Ruth's Step One Success Story

Ruth's Step One Success Story

With a family history of hyperlipidemia, which is a condition in which your blood has too many lipids such as cholesterol and triglycerides, Ruth was not surprised when she was diagnosed with high cholesterol… again.

“My diet is healthy, and I already exercise 5 to 6 times a week,” she says. “So, given my genetic factors, I am predisposed to high cholesterol, but I didn’t want to take statin medications.”

Ruth previously tried taking statin medications to control her cholesterol, but the side effects she experienced were too painful for her to continue taking the medication.

“When I took them (statins), the side effects were ugly,” she says. “I didn’t want to go back on medications, so I told him to just give me a month to lower my cholesterol on my own.”

Ruth had previously seen a Facebook ad for Step One Foods and wanted to try the foods for 30 days to see if it would work for her, so after her appointment with her doctor, she placed an order.

Ruth started her Step One journey in January 2022 and just one month later, she saw significant health improvements, including a 23-point LDL drop, from 204 to 181!

“As a person all too familiar with the dangers that come along with health issues like high cholesterol and high blood pressure, I am so grateful that I’ve found Step One Foods,” she says. “Hyperlipidemia affects my entire family, including my children (so much so that at 30, her son received a quadruple bypass to remove blockages from his heart) and I want this problem to end with me… I want to learn how to live long and well despite these genetic conditions.”

On a mission to improve her cholesterol levels even more, Ruth plans to continue incorporating two servings of Step One Foods into her diet, indefinitely.

“Even before Step One, I was healthy, but sometimes that’s not enough,” she says. “Sometimes you need something in your arsenal to help you overcome health conditions outside of your control, like high cholesterol in my case, and that’s what Step One is for me. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to naturally control my cholesterol levels and work toward living a long, healthy life.”

Ruth encourages anyone on the fence about Step One Foods or improving their health in general to believe that food is life.

“Before you take any prescription, find out what food you can use to help better your life and health,” she says. “That’s what I did with Step One Foods and I’m so glad that I did.”
